Recruitment AI success stories ...
Where are they?
- LinkedIn keeps telling me stories about bad AI screening and horrible AI interviews
- Hiring Managers and candidates are calling me daily to complain about AI driven recruitment processes taking too long and being inefficient
- There must be some good Recruitment AI news, somewhere?
I am spending more and more time speaking to excellent candidates who are not even getting through the first stage of screening for jobs they are perfect for.
At the same time, I am hearing from hiring managers who are frustrated about the quality of applicants being presented for interview and the time it is taking to find the right people.
Every technological advancement we have had in recruitment for the past 30 years has either made our work more accurate, quicker or both.
At the moment I'm struggling to see how AI is helping at all.
I talk a lot about candidate experience in recruitment and this is clearly at an all-time low. Looking for a new job is a deeply personal and often emotionally charged experience. By stripping away much of the personal interaction, companies who are automating their recruitment processes are damaging their own brand and missing the best people.
AI is part of our future and it is helping in many areas. It may be able to scan read 50 CVs more quickly than a human. But it can’t see the human in the CV, and that is a big problem for your team.
